Every expense in the right bucket
Put each cost into a category: supplies, rent, utilities, whatever fits your shop. Over a few weeks you stop wondering where the money goes and start seeing it, clearly, by type.
Linked to the shift it was paid in
Cash paid out mid-shift is part of that day's drawer, so an expense recorded while a shift is open is tied to that shift, and wages paid from the till are recorded against the staff member. The cash count stays honest and nothing slips through.
A trail you can actually follow
Every expense is logged with its date, category and amount. When it's time to do the books, or you just want to check a number, it's all there, tied back to where it happened.

Questions about Expense Tracking
How do expenses affect the cash count?
An expense recorded while a shift is open is linked to that shift and taken out of the expected cash, so the drawer still balances when you count it at close.
Can I set my own expense categories?
Yes. Create the categories your business spends in, such as rent, supplies or utilities, and every expense is grouped under one so the totals are easy to read.
Do expenses show in my reports?
Yes. The dashboard takes expenses off your gross sales to show net revenue, and each shift report lists the expenses paid during that shift.
Is expense tracking included in the plan?
Yes. It is part of the Hajza plan at Rs 5,000 a month per branch. A masjid records its expenses in the charity ledger instead, which is free.
